Heat trade- Zach Randolph Jamal Maglorie Free Agent Vet 1st Rounder-03-Heat 1st Rounder-03-Sonics 1st Rounder-05-Memphis 1st Rounder-08-Portland 1 Future Upgrade
Lakers trade- Jermaine O'Neal Devean George 2nd Rounder-02-Lakers 2nd Rounder-03-Spurs
Heat confirm...
I had to do this deal...I mean those 2nd Rounders are steals...And I also love the fact of O'Neal and Gasol will be in Miami for years...O'Neal and Gasol and Rip is a nice way to start rebuilding in Miami...

tried as hard as i could to get gasol, but he wouldnt budge. pick up 4 pretty solid picks, a starting center and a great 19 year old in randolph.

I sorta like Zach more as well. O'Neal seems a bit overrated.

u guys can say wat u want... ur all intitled to ur opinions...but i just feel gasol rip and oneal will be a scary team to go against... i still have a very good pick next year... and i might have a good pick this year with my pick since gasol is only a rookie... i like the direction my team is going in and im looking to start competing

and i dont see how this is a bad trade... wouldnt it be a bad trade if it made my team worse... I dont think it made it worse.. It made it better... Randolph is a horrible defender and O'Neal is a great one and also Randolph is only 4 years younger then O'Neal, O'neal is just reaching his top pot... Maglorie is nothing special... Gasol and O'Neal will be a nasty combo... Im taking a chance trading that sonics pick, but I still have the Boston pick which might be as good or better then the Soncis pick.. So can someone please explain how this is a bad deal for me... It is a good deal for both...

Miami probably could have given up less but I don't think Randolph is better than O'Neal at all and the Heat do come away with a future 20-10-3 player. Good deal for both.

I'd definately say the Lakers win the trade, but I also don't think JO is overrated at all. I can understand the logic for both sides though.

Personally I think your around a 3-6 seed in the east, you had a plethora of good youth and picks to make a run at being the top teams in the league in a couple of years, Magloire is coming into his own and I think you gave up on Randolph to early, to be banking on that Boston pick is a game of russian roulette he will most likely lose Malone but he has a strong team still and most likely will be around a 15-18 in that draft IMO my team next year on the other hand is absolute garbage and will be next year especially with my best player expiring and me trying to deal everything for picks and expirings. Memphis is a huge question mark down the road too. I had JO for a couple seasons, his improvement has come off of RC's hes nothing more then a 18-10 if your lucky with little or any pot left. Yes he will make your team better now and if you think you have a shot for the title with his accusition then god bless you and I wish you all the luck in the world but you just gave your future contender status to hernando with this one, for a decent player whose gonna ask for a max deal next year. Im not trying to ruffle any feathers here and at the end of the day my opinion means jackshit but IMO you gave away potentialy Lebron or Melo and two promising young guys and a couple potential good futures for just a decent player who makes your team a little bit better and this is why I think its bad.

Then you add alot to Zach and the deal just becomes confusing for me. Maybe if you dealt Magloire and picks for a young PG or SF I would liked it but at this point I think youre kinda rushing your youth. I dont think Gasol is ready to dominate enough to make you a contender. On the other hand in 3 years Rip, Pau and Zach woulda been a nice trio of young players.

I think the Heat just went on name value here. JO looks solid but i dont think he'll be a star in this league. Lakers get a great deal here.

Interestingly enough i asked the Heat if they were interested in Kmart who i think is similar to JO but he had no interest.
