So, although its far off, Im curious as to what everyone would like to do once we surpass current time. Im guessing we could easily get to 2015 with real players, after that we have a couple different options. 1 is to restart again with the newer version of FBB which should be out sometime in 2007. Another would be to use the college version of FBB to create fake players. I like this idea because I could upload the college league, and you could see players progress through college. Then go to the pros.
Obviously this isnt a huge concern, but we do sim rather quick. A season is about 5-6 weeks, which means well get to 2015 within18 months or so.
Anyone with feedback feel free to let me know.

If the league continues to be as active as it is i think we should go with the college fake players but if the league starts to become less active as we approach the 2015 season i think we should restart the league with the new FBB.

I like the college version purely on the fact it add another element into the equation of seperating the GM's skill level. We all Know now that players like Elton Brand have more potential than players like Trajan Langdon. Assuming with the college basketball version there will be more of an element of surprise and would weigh more heavily on your draft day decisions instead of knowing what already happened. However I really feel we should start over with the new FBB game because I think this will take BBS to a new level assuming there are some new features in the game. I also think at the certain restart we should start earlier than 1999 more like 1980's. There is alot of good talent that was established in the league in the 80's where I feel 1999 alot of talent was on it's way out which is a major reason why so many teams are doing so poorly right now and looking torwards the future.

Question in the college sim would players in college potentals change every year they stay in school. So the scouting potental listed wont be accurate.

The college system does sounds interesting, but it may stray away from activity since we dont really know these players, It could become boring, but maybe once you get to know everyone in the league it starts to be better. I just think we dont know these guys and it may just confuse people. well see. Restarting will suck but it should be a lot better with the new fbb, though i really do not want to re start again.

Well, from my limited experience I think the fake players are more desiraeble. That creates a more realistic atmosphere to me. When we use the older and real life players guys have an idea who to stockpile draft picks for. In fake guys you really arent sure who is gonna pan out and who isnt which makes it more real to me. Thats how NBA draft is. Sometimes, no, a lot of times guys just dont pan out and sometimes guys taken at end of rd turn out great. I think that aspect would add more realism to the lg. My 2 cents.

Hopefully the league file can move over to the new version. Its the same creator, so Im guessing thats something hed like to have as an option. AS for fake players, well in reality real players that are currently freshman in HS are usually guys we also dont know, so Im not sure fake players will be that different. I like the idea of having the backstory of a college league, while I can add in fake euro spects as well. Could be fun.

I'd love to get use the new game, no matter which way. I think a restart is also a top possibility. Plus we could add another 3-5 teams which I think we could handle witht he amount of GMs that want in. Would also be amazing for activity to have more teams, more playoff teams, a bigger playoff system perhaps if the game allows it.

New game isnt out for awhile, so I dont want guys to worry either way. Im gonna guess itll be 6-8 months before a new game is out, which means we have 5-7 seasons ahead of us here regardless.

i'm actually glad the possibility of a restart was brought up sooner than later so that dudes don't get in the same situation as mark like last time.
but anyhow, i've become a big fan of fictional players over the years. i love the way expectations are simple unknown... i think the advantages it brings outweigh the possibility of bordem and such.
also. are retro players at all a possibility or are we just not going that route again?
i'm cool with all options, but if you want my opinion i'd have to say i prefer fake players/college fbb... and honestly even w/o college fbb i'd rather have a file made randomly by spencer than restart.

I would say re-start with the new version.
I would assume alot of the things that are wrong with the current game will be fixed, probably alot more flexibilty with customizing things, and a whole new interface.

I bet you can transfer your files from the version we use now to the newer game when it comes out. it would be so dumb if they didnt.

It has to be... it's been rumoured that you will more than likely need to re-purchase the new version. How else to entice owners of the previous version running a sim league?
