How does Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday sound? This sounds good to me as well. This is actually too fast for my taste, but I can handle it. Any more and I don't think I could keep up. Also agree with Matt and Yanks. I don't know about you all, but when the league begins to get a lot of fake players in and push out the real players, my interest level drops dramatically. I think we can extend the interest period by using real players in the draft....know what I mean?

Pretty soon we'll be playing the '08 season during the '08 season in real life and we'll have no where to go in terms of "real" players.

I was talking about this is Nanz the other day; how about the idea of using current players today, alongside with retro players? In this I mean that we would all have our current teams with our current rosters but say for the draft in the 2010 season or whenever, instead of using a made up draft class, we use the draft class from 1980 (or any desired date). This way instead of starting the entire league and rosters over to what they were in the 1980s, we can have the Don Mattingly's, Tony Gwyns, Cal Ripkins, Doc Goodins and Daryl Strawberrys playing with guys like Ryan Howard, Jose Reyes, Dan Haren and so on. I don't know if this is possible or if this idea has already been shot around, but its just a thought, could make things interesting.

A lot of people do not like the idea of retro, but its not a bad idea. Though we would need someone to create these players because it takes a lot of time to make these guys i bet in baseball.

What's the alternative of not going retro, just having made up guys infinitely into the future? And yeah who would be the one to create the players and give them their stats, and what stats do you go by to create these guys. In one of these retro drafts do you only create the superstars or the first round and have fake players the rest of the way, or are these draft lists already created and there for us to use? I have no idea how any of this works.

The game creates fake players and then if the commish wanted to he could adjust them to his liking or not, they pretty much give you a certain number of 5 stars, 4.5 4, etc... But the commish has the option of doing whatever he wanted.
Now you could have a list of like 30 players from the retro era in each draft and the rest fake, so it would not be that big of a pain to create them all, but not that many guys like retro because we already know how they turned out in real life, so they would most likely be similar. Fake players allows for an uncertainty and a realism in a way to the game.

It may just be better to either start over fresh at 1980 and sim historically...or not to do retro names at all. But that's just me, I'm a big fan for realistic gameplay.
I'll do whatever everyone's game for---but I personally won't be game to the fake players, especially with a late draft pick.

Retro is too much work as it is. I do not like retro that much for baseball to tell you the truth.
