After 1 full regular season, how was the league for you? Did you enjoy it? How could it be better?

Overall great first year. Always expect little glitches when a league starts, but that's the way it goes.
Only thing I really didn't like at this point, and I would guess others are on the same page, is the extension process.
But like I said, the first year went great, thanks to Duce, Spencer and anyone else who had a hand in getting this thing up and going!

I was much more interested early on, before getting in BBS, but a lot of that has to do with my team. I have major prospects, so after a while, sims meant nothing to me. This upcoming season will be really interesting to see if my players develop into superstars, and I can promote them. I love the baseball concept, and love it even more on the same board as BBS.

I felt like I knew for a fact I was wrong about a little over halfway through extensions periods and at that point imo there was more fair to go with the rules for that current year. The rule will be changed so that you don't have to start talks with anyone. Was there any other problem with extensions in your view?

Well anyhow. Huge thanks goes out to all GMs for participating and making this league cool for me.
Especially big thanks to Greggor, Spencer and I GUESS that jackass bizzle for helping me. I don't think the league would have been possible or have survived otherwise but now it looks very promising.
Any advice here is appreciated, keep it coming.

I understand the opening day for talks....have to wait til during the season for that, but why the ending time for talks? There are a couple of guys I'd have liked to waited a little longer to debate resigning, but had to get things done quickly to get to others. The game lets you offer extensions until the WS is over....just wondering.

The game lets you offer extensions until the WS is over....just wondering. well here are my reasons. -i figured 4 months would be enough. -i was actually under the impression(after i asked people questions about the game) that there would be less offers in august, which there definitely were. -i didn't want to be doing extensions all season long. but i just didn't anticipate yourself and a couple of others still wanting to bid. i mean, it's all under consideration... i'd like to get more opinions on it and i'm definitely pro-gm control.

really enjoyed it, makes bbs one of the best forums on the net now. With BBS, BBSBL, the football league coming, and 1982, shit is awesome. And then their is uosl, which i dominate so its always nice to have that.
Anyway on the topic of bbsbl, it was really great. I thought duce and everyone else involved did a nice job of running it and setting it all up, duce is a good commish, so as long as he is running things this league will hold up strong IMO. I have no complaints, it went well.

enjoyed it. I ended up .500 somehow with this team and should be better next year with an influx of youth. I felt like I wasn't quite as active towards the end of the year, but I think that had a lot to do with the fact that we had dropped near 10 games back of the division. So most of what I did at the end of the year was move young guys around and maybe try and get some guys trained at other positions where I could use them.

It was fun but hopefully my team can be a lot more competitive next season.

Thought since it was a new lg and new commish it went pretty damn well.
Only thing I'd do is like others have said leave the extensions open till end of WS. Thats how MLB does it, and if we're striving for realism we probably should too. I generally wait to resign guys also unless they give me what they want up front and I think it's reasonable.
Think it's a solid looking lg though.
Good job Duce

Yeah, my first year with any of this and I had a great time. I guess i would agree with mark that after a while the sims didnt mean much to me just because my team was out and i was more focused on the prospects. But i will say that duce ran a great league, for me at least.

I don't post much but I really enjoyed the league this year....The only thing I will complain about is how long the season took.

Yeah, it was a really long season. That caused a lot of the inactivity.

weird because i think most leagues try to keep it at 3 sims a week, while i'm doing 4 at times.
what do you think i can do better? i don't want to sim every day honestly.

I'd say just sim more days at a time once it hits like, July. Maybe you already did that. Honestly, once it got into the late months I'd just check my record to make sure I was still losing.

lol.
na it was just 7 days and 8 days alternating every 2 real life days. i'm not surprised an fbb crowd would feel this way, which is why i did this in the first place... but it's still too slow i suppose.
if i do 10 days per sim every 2 days, each season would finish about 2 weeks sooner, not sure what everyone thinks of that?

I felt it was a good pace. You gotta expect baseball to take longer, but it was pretty short if you think about it. Its just sucks if your team is losing and nothing to really look forward too in the season. so it feels longer.
