i dont agree with banking on picks either. smush is a very good pg trust me i wish i had signed him but to say nenad was a terrible contract is just a false statement. i just think u could have gotten these guys for cheaper and added another piece or 2

Even if Nene doesn't improve, he's a solid starter....and I'll be putting an RC or two into him to make sure he does improve. And while your right, I probably could have gotten them cheaper, I didn't want to low-ball them. Better safe then sorry. You have to take risks to steal players in FA, and that's exactly what I'm doing here. Oh, and I still have 7.7 mill in cap.

What makes you think Nenad's contract isn't terrible?

you said he declined when actuality he declined in inside scoring and increased in reb and def . and also still has a pot and for c+ inside scorer 43 percent from the field is pretty solid from the bench

Yeah sorry, but Nenad has a horrible contract. If he has 2 very nice TC's...well then he's only just as good as Nene and makes more money.

I'll tell you why because he's put up solid numbers for me his entire career and once me and zeke part ways he will be a big part of my team

The only thing we are saying is I'm pretty sure you could of signed him for much much less. Not so sure he'll be a part of your team worth 23 mil.

I don't believe anyone actually offered Kristic a max deal. Reminds me of the Allan Houston thing. Ironic actually.

nenad was a bad contract just as much as smush was. Also people need to start realizing how much a max impacts your team. With the new rule in place that you can't go over the hard cap this means that buying out contracts are not going to be as easy.
Nova, I'm not bashing you for signing those guys but you could have made 7-9 mil offers for less years instead. I like Nene a great deal but I don't think he lives up to that contract. If you were going to offer that deal you could have made it 3 yr max to get your birds and your player. Also PG's like Smush are a dime a dozen and I guarantee if you started most of the PG's in this league they would put up similar numbers.
Bender, Nened is going to cost you a bundle in the future and that really hurts. Even if he improves offensively to a B inside he still isn't worth his contract. I think you completely pressured yourself into this deal by trying to keep winning. To put things in perspective Nenad makes more than Brand, Nowitzki, Manu, and JJ.
This is what FA's is all about though. I think private bidding really makes GM's freak out and could work for or against GM's. I feel for you bender though and I just hope Nenad becomes a 20ppg scorer

Oh, don't get me wrong krup. I DEFINITELY overpaid and I admit that, but I don't mind overpaying if it guarantees me two good young players.
I don't think Smush is a dime-a-dozen PG...he's not elite, but he's certainly not average.
Here's essentially what I've done since I took over:
Traded: Steve Nash(Ugly contract) Joe Smith(Ugly contract) Anthony Parker(HORRIBLE contract) Rip Hamilton(HORRIBLE contract) Travis Outlaw Al Harrington(Somewhat ugly contract) Nick Collison #22 #26 Bulls 2010 1st
for
Expirings last season(Jason Williams, George, etc.) Gary Trent(expiring) Kerry Kittles(expiring) Melvin Levett(expiring) Smush Parker Nene 7.7 mill in cap this offseason Hornets 2007 1st Top 20 1st by 2008 Top 20 1st by 2008 07 Wizards 2nd 08 Wizards 2nd 09 Wizards 2nd 09 Heat 2nd
Basically, I unloaded several ugly contracts, and while I did deal some nice players in Al & Outlaw, it got me tons of cap room and flexibility. Also, I did deal three firsts...but two were late, and Bulls 2010 1st will be late most likely...in return, I get two Top 20's by 2008 and my own in 07....
I'm quite happy with what I've done. Turned a team that was stuck with several ugly contracts into a young team with cap room this & next offseason in addition two four 1sts in the next two seasons.
The only real downside to the signings is I doubt I'm one of the worst two/three teams in the league, so I most likely lost my shot at Oden/Durant. Oh well, I'm happy with my FA....hopefully I can get another guy I like on Days 3-4.

Your big point is you traded away ugly contracts to do what? inherit more ugly contracts via free agency? I don't get it. I'm not saying you are doing a bad job but you could have done better.
