I'm Dave Krupinski and I always know who smites me.. and I’m Galo Pesantes, I always thought you smited yourself like Ducky does Dave… Sometimes you aren’t lucky if you’re ducky
Indeed Dave, indeed. Lets get to the show.
[glow=red,2,300] Headlines[/glow] After 15 days into the regular season the Pacers are a top of the BBS standings with a record of 9-3. The people of Indiana are excited about their Pacers...what do you think of the new look Pacers?Indiana should be excited about the Pacers because they should be one of the front runners for the BBS crown this year. Look they have every angle covered as they have a superstar talent in KG, a nice do it all type in Grant Hill, a pass first pg in Andre Miller, a great perimeter shooter in Finley, and a solid defensive center in Foyle. This team is ready to take the East by storm and dominate for years to come. Well I hate to agree with you but I am hopping along on the Pacers bandwagon as I loved what they have done with their franchise in such little of time. They have complete balance from top to bottom. The acquisition of Shawn Kemp really solidifies their chances at a title run because this allows, my MVP pick, Kevin Garnett to move to SF position to just wreak havoc....although guess who was on the cover of SI to begin the season.......KG and the Pacers....Obviously, the Detroit Pistons have an actual contender in the East now and it is going to be interesting how it shapes up as far as match ups. Can Dre contain Kidd? Can Dice put the reins on KG? Is Foyle big enough to go against O'Neal? Its questions and speculation, but I think the Pacers have the personnel to do it this year. It's amazing to see what KG is capable with players around him. Either way the people of Indiana are excited and isn't that what it's all about. I can definitely see KG earning his first MVP this season and if the Pacers win the championship, he'll be the reason why. Reports out of Texas indicate time is running out in Houston as the Rockets have seemed to have failed to launch for 3 consecutive seasons now...do you think Aig's days in Houston are numbered? No Dave, apparently if he wasn’t fired by now, he is never going to be fired. The Rockets are the second worst team in the regular season since the start of the league and aren’t getting any better apparently. I’m not sure how many chances you get in Houston but in other cities it be adios amigo by now. You can't put all the blame on the coach here as he has had young talent here that hasn't really developed but yet on the other hand what measures have been taken to help support this youthful cast? No trades have been made, roster adjustments have been minimal and marginally effective. Maybe it's not AIG's fault but maybe he isn't the man in Houston. How many lotto picks does he need before seeing results?
Dave it’s not a matter of lotto picks but rather it’s developing his talent. Odom is 21 years old and we haven’t seen any improvement in his play. Same thing goes for Corey Maggette. He hasn’t seen any changes in his game, that cant all be AIG's fault but something isn’t working out in Houston and it shows. Well something is wrong in Houston and no one has a clue about it. I mean I could give you a better idea on how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop than I could tell you what AIG is doing in Houston and that my friend is a problemSure Dave, everyone knows it takes 3 bites to get to the center a tootsie roll. But that’s not the point here. The point is the Rockets face being one of the worst teams as if that isn’t news for another 5-6 seasons at the very least Well Galo you suck a pop better than most Atlantic City prostitutesDave, you are on the clock with the #1 pick in the 2002 BBS draft, on one end you have the 7'7 mammoth of a man in Yao Ming and the wonder child from high school in Amare Stoudamire on the other. Who are you taking? Well Galo as you know I am an East coast guy and I get to see the sun rise while you can wait 3 more hours on the west coast. Well Yao is far far far East coast and he gets to see the sun 5 hrs and 2 ft before everyone else. how can you argue with that? You can’t argue with that because Amare will get Yao's grill and have his balls hanging around his mouth when Amare takes it to hole against Yao. Stoudamire is quite a specimen, almost KG like but stronger and more athletic. Yao is great for his size but his ability is also stunned by his girth. Simply, Stoudamire makes the most out of what is god given to him and Yao doesn’t. Well Yao is about 9 ft tall with his arms up with that sweet baby hook he can do lefty or righty. Notice I said lefty and righty while Amare can only go right. Yao also has a soft touch for a pretty good midrange game. Also no matter how bad of a player you are standing at 7 feet 6 inches you will alter people’s shots coming into the lane. I don't care about blocks but I am talking about altering shots. Yao will cause more missed lay ups than anyone in the league because people will try to go under or over and chances are they won't get a great look. It's the little things that Yao will do that doesn't show up in the box scores that make him the clear head and shoulders pick above Amare. The physical attributes are great and all but when I see Amare play, he has the heart of a champion and you can see it when he plays. He shows his tenacity with every dunk, every block, every rebound. Plus he’s going to be younger than Yao when he comes out so will have more time to grow and longevity over your China Man. Do you understand Yao can play till he is 75. He is 7'6 and back in china they sleep on beds of nails and they eat fish raw. They are tough people. It's evident by any game show you watch these people can take pain and blows and bounce back up. Have you ever seen Mr. Miyagi? I'm sure at 80 he could drop kick Chuck Norris. Get ready for the Ming Dynasty to begin
Didn’t the Ming Dynasty get obliterated? In any case, its time for you to hit the books Dave, both on history and on this kid Amare. He’s going to be great, no doubt. NEXT QUESTION! Reports out of Washington indicate there is a fairy amongst the Wizards. The sources said that the player is one of the main contributors on the team. Timmy Hardaway lashed out at the media saying he can't play with a gay guy. What is your take on gay players in BBS and how should they be treated in the league? Well Galo I've never been to concerned with my teammates personal lives off the court and I've always been more worried about the effort of play given day in and day out and who is ready to battle come game time. I think it's sad that many players have to live the lie but it's just best if they stay in the closet. I am curious if the player will come out or just let these reports keep swirling. Not sure of Timmy Hardaway's status with the team either.I have no problem with gay players in the league. Will they get scrutinized? yes, but that’s because we live in such a ego driven and masculine sports community. Some people cant take it like Hardaway. But I think the league should be fine with it until events turn negative. If players like Cuttino Mobley or Steve Francis start coming out, it could be a BBS PR nightmare. Well I for one am glad I won't be in the Wizards locker room there will be a whole lot of soap on a string from now on. He also probably feels intimidated that he can’t walk around the locker room with his ass hanging out. But it is obvious that Timmy is a homophobic person. He has a little man complex and he’s probably not packing as much as he thinks he should be. As the old saying goes you smelt it you dealt it maybe this is just a big cover for Timmy however the gay-dar has always gone off a little for Antoine Walker when he does his shimee shimmee Yea Dave, why don’t you do a little shimmee for all our viewers before we go to commercial break? Shimee Shimmee cocoa puff oh yea...Alright though time for a commercial break stay tuned when we get back we got 5 good min coming up with our special guest league commissioner Spencer...don't go channel surfing for queer eye for the straight guy nowHey look I found a way to carry six beers at once Brilliant! We should celebrate this by tapping beers sayings cheers
Brilliant!
Please drink responsibly Don't drink underage Welcome back to the show boys and girls. We're in for a treat as we get to have 5 good minutes to pick the brain of league commissioner and Golden State GM Spencer. Hey SpencerWelcome Spencer Martin to the show Thanks for having meSince starting BBS over again many teams opted different ways to start their franchise, If you had to choose one position to have a stud at, what position would you choose?Definitely a go to scorer, that has the ability to dominate in one other area. Either rebounding, defense, steals, blocks. Wade for example. So you're saying you would start off with a go to 2 guard? Not necessarily, just someone that can be your #1 option and also do something else at an elite level. I don’t think you can be inflexible when building a team, can’t just focus on a certain position.
Spencer, there has been a lot of speculation who your favorite GM is, is it a long time friend like Brian, formerly of the Phoenix Suns or maybe more an exuberant GM like Pig. So really is he really your favorite GM right now? If not who is? Galo wants to know who is your man crush in BBSHa Ha Ha I think our audience wants to know Dave Good thing they do or else we would be out of jobsI can’t say I have a favorite GM. There are people who I think have great personalities, and others who I think are great GM's. I like the activity of certain guys, but I also like the guys that are steadily improving their teams. So all the GM's are great in different ways you mean right? Some are lazy fuckers, but they’re alright too.Well talk about dodging a question....enough with being politically correct Spence....spill the beans who's the favoriteI’d have to say right now its probably Duce. I think he’s done a great job of rebuilding his squad, and should have a solid team for years to come. Definitely a Gm of the year candidate, and I’m all about guys making the moves to win.Ducey Woosey from Indiana. He’s a good guy isn’t he Dave? It's been a strong topic throughout the show of what a job Duce has done It’ll be interesting to see how much losing his Asst hurts him.Well Spence it's funny you mention about your interest in guys making moves to win. What are your thoughts on the guys making moves to lose? Is tanking a serious problem in BBS?Yea tanking is definitely a serious problem. Hernando brought up some very awesome points that could make tanking less of an intriguing option for teams. It is always going be a part of sim leagues though so no matter what we do, or try, tanking is going to happen. I guess as long as people tank correctly, it’ll be okay, we just cant have guys trying to stash good players and lose. But is it ok to throw your whole franchise away say like former GM CC did with Chris Webber, Mike Finley, and Damon Stoudamire? It’s legal, but it’s a bad idea. I mean if CC had done a better job rebuilding, he’d still have a GM spot. He lost his job not because of the last deal, but because of the last deal being the last straw.Speaking of that deal, is every trade Aaron Reilly make going to be looked at under a microscope?I don’t think so. Maybe every deal he makes with Haberman or CC, but not every deal. He does have great foresight for picksDefinitely Since CC has been fired, What if an overwhelming amount of the league wanted to see the dismissal of a GM would you let him go for the sake of the happiness of the league?Do you mean, would I fire a GM because of public sentiment? Probably no. I’m definitely slow to pull the trigger with firing people. It’s a hard thing to do. I usually only do it when it’s absolutely necessary.
Even if it compromised the existence of the league? An anonymous source of mine told me there were rumors swirling last season of a walk out of over 15 gm’s.I doubt 1 GM would ruin the league. I don’t think losing or keeping 1 Gm would kill the league. And I’d rather do what I think was right, then do what people expected me to do. People always talk about leaving, or threatening to leave, or starting a new sim. I think any other sim would be hard pressed to duplicate what we’ve done here. Best of luck to all the 15 Gm’s if they were really thinking of leaving.Spence, a lot of teams have tried to tank and lose purposely to get better draft status for their picks, how good do you see the future draft classes being? Pretty much on par with what we’ve seen. We’ve seen a lot of busts, and few surprises so in all honesty the draft probably isn’t the best way to build. RC’s are going to be very important because most players wont develop enough themselves. How does this years class stock up to previous years past?About the same. Last year was a little stronger. This will be a nice class though. Haven’t spent much time on it, but we'll do something interesting I’m sure. I know we still have some question marks on declarers but do you see this being more of a lotto happy draft or deep first round?I cant really say too much on the draft. It’s so early. It’s not that I’m keeping info from you, but just because I have no idea what it’s going to look like. Maybe PTI3Spencer there are teams like Detroit and Toronto who have very good players and often rip off other Gm’s in deals. Do you worry that some teams becoming too good or making it uncompetitive for the rest of the league? Sometimes, usually it evens out though. I don’t worry about that too much.
But when you get deals that are just outrageously uneven, there have been times that you want to throw in the towel right? Yes, of course. So where do you draw the line between what is best for the teams involved and what is best for the league? Competitive balance is very important, I guess that’s where the Beware GM's post came from tonight. I just don’t want anyone to get so comfortable they don’t think about the trades they are doing. It’s a hard thing to decide. I just have to try and take the GM's involved, and make the best decision I can then see how people react and modify if necessary. Before you mentioned you wouldn't fire a gm because of other people’s thoughts as you would stick to your guns and do what you felt is right but yet you say you look for people’s reactions to veto a trade? So if there is enough complaints about a trade does that make grounds to veto? Not really. I mean usually it’s based from what I feel. I did un-veto a trade recently because of the public opinion. So the public does carry some weight in your decision?I doubt I'd veto a deal just because lots of GM's didn’t like it, unless I didn’t like it as well. Probably more in reversing my decision then in making it if that makes sense Much like house has power to veto the president at times. Lets just hope Charles Barkley never becomes president.
There’s a lot of great teams out there commish, but but who’s the best? Who will we see raise the BBS championship trophy at the end of this year? I think this year is wide open. Although the Pistons seemed to have been given the title before the season started, I must say that the Pacers and Sixers look good as well. And whoever makes it from the west has a chance as well. It should be another fun year.
Definitely, so you see the chip run through the east this year? Not necessarily. Its openWhere's the bulls in these talksThey suck.Yea Dave, those horns aren’t too sharp this year My Bulls believe in the Red Foreman theory and we'll shove them up your assRed Foreman is a great man.
Indeed As we all know Spence you are the commissioner of the league as well as the Gm of the Warriors do you ever find a conflict of interest at times? Is it hard balancing the two?Not really. I’ve played the game long enough to know what it takes to win. I don’t really think creating the players gives me that much extra info. I’ve seen guys I thought would be awesome bust, and guys that I thought were mediocre be awesome. I’m still puzzled with Jason terry and Danny Fortson. I also like to make sure my offers for players are fair, so that I don’t ever get accused of "raping" another GM. The Allen trade is a good example of that. What would your Marion trade be considered?I thought it was good value, but that opinion is my own.Sure is, but you ever get the temptation to re-sim or sim again? Re-simming just wouldn’t be fun. I wouldn’t want to win and have it be tainted. Why even be in a league where I won every game, every year. That’s no fun. Do you find it more enjoyable to be the creator and commish of the sim or rather as a coach?Easily the commish. I love making the draft file, I love creating topics of discussion. I love simming everyday. GM’ing mostly frustrates me because I really can’t get any deals done of late. What is it about a shot blocker that makes them so alluring to you in BBS?They are pretty important to being successful. Definitely something that I always target as I build my team.Last Question Commisioner because I know you have various duties to attend to. Everyone around the league is curious to know who is on the hot seat as far as GMs go? I don’t think it’s fair to tell everyone who is in danger of being fired. Let’s keep it a surprise.I know you have to be tight lipped about it, but what are the chances someone gets axed before the end of February? While I have some guys in mind, it’s really up to them whether or not they get fired. I don’t just fire guys randomly; it’s based on their performance and activity. It’s pretty much up in the air.Alright well unfortunately our time is up, Thanks Spence you've been a great sport pleasure having you onThank you Spencer Thanks for having me guysTime for another break I promise what we have up next is more fun than peeing in the snowI like to write my name I bet you do

PTI is brought to you by… EA Sports It's in the game Smirnoff Everything else just sucks
[glow=red,2,300]Role Play[/glow]
Alright Dave, I’m the GM of one of the most under achieving teams in league history. i am in the west, the middle of the west that is. people say I act like a little kid but I don’t listen to them. And yes I do think that Bryce Taylor and Aaron Brooks of Oregon are sexy. Well no one from Oregon is sexy and yes you would be Hansel, who goes by the handle of ducky, for his undying devotion to Oregon a school he doesn't go to. His Nuggets have been major underachievers under his term as GM. He doesn't seem to get the most production out of his players as he should. Yea so what if I’ve underachieved. I’m a really active gm and I have good players. It’s not my fault my players aren’t playing like they should be. My chicken nuggets still are good aren’t they? It looks like you have McDonald’s chicken nuggets in your sig which are in no way near as good as Wendy’s chicken nuggets. Your players are average now and way to replace Camby with Lo Wright and pay him that ridiculous contract maybe you should have been a little bit more concerned about resigning one of your 3 young pg’s you had on your team last season.
I just made 4 trades in one day, how many trades have you done in one day. No matter what you say, my nuggets are good and delectable and affordable too. You didn't make any deals because you can't add next! I have had a very successful career in the new BBS making the playoffs every year and getting more and more talent. I didn't think the draft was too important so I just took guys with really cool names like Rico and Jimmie with an “ie” at the end instead of a “y”...cool beans. I realized what a mistake I made so I dealt away the only player that would ever help me win who coincidently just so happened to be the player I got in return for trading away the best player in BBS. I got 2 nice young guys back in return but I said screw it why not trade 1 of them away for more picks.I would have to say you’re Aaron, and not the one from mo town but the one from Disney world, Haberman. You did trade AI one of the best in the game at his position and but you overpay for Raef LaFrentz and now is your franchise guy? I love Raef and that's why I signed him to a 7 year deal that he will never live up to. I also have 3 starters over the age of 34. On the bright side Dalembert is young even though he is not the player I thought he would be with only .7 bpgYou're right Aaron, and another thing you are trying to rebuild and you pay 15 million for one year for Reggie miller? If I’m Reggie I’m wiping my ass with all the extra millions u have to pay me. Same thing goes for your big dick friend Mutumbo, another 10 million to waste his wagging finger on a bad team? Ok next... Galo
Dave, I’m a GM in the pacific division. I have a thing for underperforming power forwards. I also have a thing for our league commissioner. I want to know if he laughs, if he cries, if he thinks about me at night. I want to know it all. I love that no one gets my jokes or trades. Oink Oink I think you're pig and you bring humor to the boards. I'm not sure if Spencer laughs, cries, or pees his pants because latest I heard was that Spencer was just a robot. It seems like you like to switch up your PF's like you switch your underwear which is hopefully dailyI do switch my underwear every day thank you very much. And I do know for a fact that Spencer is not a robot. Other than that I love the fact that I have a new thing for point guards because I have 5 on my rosters but I don’t have any love for centers. Except Jahidi White, because it was either him or Fortson, I had to keep the fatter one because I’m a pig. Aright enough of making a ham out of yourself Galo, Next!
Well I begged to get into the league and I even offered favors to those who would lobby in my favor to get me back in. I would tell you about it but I deleted my aim because you know what it’s lame and I kept getting bugged by people on it because I’m so cool. I thought it would be a good idea to break up the 4th best team in the west to rebuild even though most of my players were under the age of 26. So I dealt away a top 5 pf for nothing why because it made me suck even more. So I could have gotten more but o well this is my plan. I will continue to make poor decisions to my franchise until it’s the worst in BBS because that’s my goal because once you’ve hit rock bottom you have no where to go but up and then I’ll look like a genius. You would be CC, one of the worst GMs in the history of GMs. If not in the history of GMs, at least in the history of BBS. If Danny Ainge and you had a contest to see which person can wreck a team faster, you would win because at least Ainge would be a little respected for his career. There’s not a lot to respect you with some undeserved swagger or cockiness in this league. What I am hella lot better than most GMs just look at the trades I make as proof. I want the suns to be like a phoenix and rise from the ashes this is why I am building from Bobby Simmons up[glow=red,2,300]Big Finish[/glow] Will there be a new division winner in the pacific?
Yes, I think the Warriors or Blazers have a legit shot of taking the title from the Clippers this year. Both are much improved and ready to compete. Some might say Warriors and you can't count out the 2 time defending champs the Clippers but call me an old wise man but I am going with the KingsIs the run in Boston over?Yes, they are too old, over their prime, their time has past. Teams like Chicago, Indiana, even Washington are going to pass them up this year. It's too early to count them out. Sure they are like Rocky from the Balboa flick but they will still get the job doneChamp out of the east or west? The east, I think there are two legit no brainers in Indiana or Detroit. Both are talented, and I think it will come down to the bench to decide who takes it. Either you're slinging crack rock or you got a wicked jump shot. You know who said that Galo?I do have a wicked jump shot Dave, i used to sling crack when i was comin up though Great so you know who said thatYea, I do Dave Well say itJay-Z Biggie come on manI was close, I knew it was a NY rapper And that’s east coast, that’s why the champ is coming out of the east, that’s why Yao is #1 pick. You west coast chumpsThe rings don’t lie, the clips jus keep shine on Who is on your all league first team?Kidd, Kobe, Garnett, Brand, Shaq. Any of these fools can get it done on my team and that’s a fact. Kidd, Kobe, Dirk, KG, DuncanRoy?This years ROY will rhyme with next years as we got Pau and Yao
No Way, its Wade all the way. He’s got Golden State back on track and back to its glory days Final thought....Well I think this has been a topsy turvy year in BBS as I’ve never seen anything like it. We got half the league rebuilding and trying to tank, and the other half trying to win. We were on the heels of the best FA class ever and barely anyone moved on. Its been a crazy year in BBS, cant wait to see how the rest goes. The BBS is really coming into it's own as more teams are finding their true identity by putting together championship caliber teams while others will be looking to cash in with their own draft picks and will immediately be able to rebuild with some great incoming players. It should be interesting to see how much of an impact this past off season will help or hinder team's development as many contracts might be under or over valued Stat boy Dave, It requires 2/3 of both the house and senate to veto the president. Also Barkley was thinking of running for Governor not president. Galo, the Ming dynasty collapsed over a long period of time due to corruption of officials and many other theories are widely discuss. Amazing what you can find on google. Galo it does not take 3 licks to get to the center of the tootsie roll pop as the owl takes 3 licks and then bites the pop so the world may never know. Finally you were both wrong on how tall Yao Ming is he isn't 7'7 like Galo said and isn't 7'6 like Dave said but rather 7'5. You guys should know Asian always come up about 2 in shorter than your expectations

1 issue i had with pti is that spence avoided questions too much. also come on guys, you gotta give LA a legit shot in pacific division and the conference, they have a solid team. In general great read, like the personalities of dave and galo. scary pic there galo lol, jk. You didn't tell me who's winning west lol, so you partly avoided the question oh well, being critical i am ha. but great stuff guys. keep up the good work.

great work man. i'm so uncomfortable with all that love, just builds the expectations and pressure. i also think it's funny i went from spencer's doghouse to favorite because of 4 trades... just goes to show everyone will love a winning team. i do appreciate all the credit i'm getting though for sure.
again, really entertaining article, if it's the last one that's cool but i'd love to see another some time next season if you found the time for it.
