Hey, I'm Dave Krupimpski, you mess with my bulls and you get the horns...
And I’m Galo Pesantes, thee BBS staff writer, and welcome to PTI boys and girls. Dave, how was your new years holiday? get any strange ass?
Tis the season, Galo, and it was the season to be giving and receiving
Headlines
According to the AP, BBS fans across the country are upset about their teams’ front office operations and question coaches’ motives of possibly trying to lose? What do you make of these thoughts, Galo?
I think it’s pretty outrageous to be honest. Tanking is a travesty in itself. You got to take a good look at your organization and see if it’s well worth it. You are not just hurting the fans, but hurting the team and the league in general. I simply don't stand by it, and can’t see why many teams conform to this way of running their teams.
Come on you wouldn't want Baron Davis, Michael Redd, Lamar Odom, Ron Artest, Gilbert Arenas on your team, come on. We all know it’s really a handful of teams in the race for the championship but you have to compete. I think Toronto should be ashamed of themselves and should turn themselves into the Mounties for not winning with T-Mac and AK-47, who is due for his annual gift from his wife yea another woman, at helm.
Toronto has always had great ownership and this draft class is one of the best in quite a while. You got guys like Baron Davis, who’s an absolute stud at UCLA and Lamar Odom who is a freakish athlete at 6'10 all coming out, it is hard not to tank, but I can certainly understand why. I mean, you wouldn’t want to couple Baron with T-Mac and AK-47? You have a championship team right then there, Dave!
He deals a youthful player in Ricky Davis and the local boy Todd MacCulloch....he's lucky these Cah-Knuckle heads in Canada are the only people more concerned with NHL. I guess it pays in the end but I couldn't see this happen in a major market
No doubt, but you know PTI has nothing but love for Canadians here. DJ has made some questionable moves but in the end i think its going to pay off despite the tanking job.
Alright alright next question, the Oregon Times reports that the Portland sensation Rusty LaRue failed an internal drug test for the Blazers for the drug Marijuana....Galo is it the Blazers Uniform?
You got to believe it. This is Dan's Jail Blazers at their best. Rusty god I wish I was still in Wake Forest, LaRue, must have smoked up storm, and its sad really. He’s their leading scorer and was due to get paid big time by somebody during the free agent market. Now, I’m not really sure how much people want this guy.
This has got to hurt his value going into his contract year but if I'm a GM I can't argue with 19ppg and his balanced game. What’s wrong with celebrating his success? If I'm a GM and he shows up for games that’s ok for me. Maybe it’s the team he has around him stressing him out. If I had the real 40 yr old virgin on my team, AC Green, I would be passing him a J too.
Everything, you are trying to run a clean club and this is things you have to deal with. Why cant LaRue and Eric Piatkowski go play checkers instead of smoking some weed?
I love checkers....check mate I win again Galo
That’s always because of a technicality, Dave. NEXT QUESTION! The Rumor Mill has been spinning all day, and reports have surfaced that Grant Hill is on the market. Dave, where do you think Grant Hill is headed and who you think needs him most?
Where do I think Grant Hill is heading....No where because his best fit is in Memphis. He is the player the Grizz need to turn their franchise around. The rumors of him leaving are purely speculation by the media like us. Reports say Hill really enjoys the liaise fair attitude in Memphis under coach d2a
D2A is a shrewd GM to deal with but I think he's serious in dealing Hill. He simply has not fit in anyone’s system everywhere he goes. Sacramento, Detroit, now Memphis. Where is his final stop?
I think Memphis is top of the Hill for Grant....he will be the franchise there for a while....come on d2a making 2 deals in a season is not happening lets be realistic
We'll see...stars like Hill come around every so often...teams like New Orleans, Indiana, Boston and even Sacramento should all take a good look at this Duke household name. On to the next question: Dave, as you know the Pistons are atop the Central division again, Detroit News is throwing around the idea of GM Aaron Reilly and his Pistons of repeating this year with this team? What do you think Dave?
I don't ever think you can count him out as the favorite for the title and with Shaq Daddy anything is possible. Although he lacks that defensive front he had last season to stand up to Minny. Smits is a lot softer than Campbell. Also don't you remember Hill was running the point last year during the playoffs....He might have traded away the Championship because Minny got a strong defender in Bowen and those guys know this could be their last run so they are a dangerous team to play.
You're right about Hill, Dave. But, like I said in my article yesterday, Sam Cassell has been more than great for him this year and this is still with Colorado standout Chauncey Billups on the bench. I think the Pistons have to be favored to repeat since no other team has really proven they can beat him time in and time out.
Sam I am wasn't the man last season and I am not convinced he is this season. When he is on his game it’s hard to stop him but when he's off he's off. Not sure if he's the guy through out the playoffs for them, plus Hill shut down Stockton. I don't think Cassell posses that lockdown defense to stop Stockton.
It doesn’t matter I think the Pistons have a great chance to win it all, and the championship runs through Detroit.
I say, No this marks the end.
Well agree to disagree. Well coming up we got 5 good Minutes.
Yes, when we get back from commercial break we got more Pistons for you when Aaron Reilly comes in for 5 good minutes.

Welcome back to PTI, we are joined by mastermind Aaron Reilly GM of the defending champs the Detroit Pistons. Welcome Aaron
Glad to be here, Dave
So Aaron, you won a championship last season, what are your thoughts on repeating and what does your team need to do in order to do it.
Well after playing through most of the season, I believe there are only a handful of legit contenders in the league. Most teams seem to be rebuilding, while a few want to win, I like my chances. I need to acquire a true backup 2/3...right now I have Billups backing up the 1 and 2, while Ray Allen has to slide down to the backup 3. If an injury occurs, it can really make things difficult on my depth chart
You traded away most of the pieces from last years championship team do you think you have a better team this season right now?
No, this team is very capable of winning, but each player is much younger than the veteran team I had last year. It may take a year or two of growing pains, but once guys like Allen, Dice, Kandi develop and fulfill their potential. It'll be scary
Besides Minnesota, do you see any team capable of taking you down in seven games or less in the finals?
Absolutely, many teams out there are very tough. In the east, the Celtics, Magic, Nets, Bucks, and Wiz are all very worthy opponents. In the west, the Clippers and Kings are also two very tough teams. Any of those teams can win a 7 game series
Do you think you can still match up with Minny without Grant Hill and the defensive presence of Eddie Jones?
It will be a difficult match up against Minny, if I'm fortunate enough to play them, but last year, my bigs were no where near the caliber of my bigs this year. Ray Allen, though not a big defender, will give any defender headaches. I love how Cassel has been playing for my team. People must be sick of me saying this, but he's been such a stud.
Hmm not sure Allen would give Bowen headaches
Now, Aaron, you are being modest, after such a winning history in BBS 1.0, has winning championships become second nature to you?
No definitely not at all as there are always competitive teams in the league, so I have to put the best team on the floor as possible. Luckily, in the past eight seasons, I have had a very good team on the floor and a little luck, which has allowed me to win
Aaron, I have to ask you, what’s the secret to your success? How do you manage to win every year?
Thus far, I’ve been lucky enough to make some very good deals at the right time, though I've dealt a lot of players, like grant hill, in the prime of their career, I've received a lot in return for these players
Ok Aaron, one last question. What team scares you the most if any?
My own team scares me the most. With regard to injuries as I hate to look at the injuries every sim. Though, like I stated before, there are a number of teams that can beat me, but if I'm healthy, I like my chances against anyone. If Shaq goes down, so does my season.
We could sit here and pick your brain all day but unfortunately time is up. Ladies and Gentlemen Aaron Reilly GM of the Detroit Pistons. Thanks so Aaron Take Care and Good luck going into the playoffs, hopefully healthy.
Thanks for having me guys anytime.
When we get back, it’s mail time. In toss up we’ll debate who would we take on our team.
Are you tired of catching your child looking at Porn on the computer? Is he constantly trying to order hookers from some Asian country? Well you need...
Block Porn. It's made from MP Soft Corp to get the Hardcore out.
Ok Ladies and Germs it’s Mail time:
Why is Outlawz tearing up my Knicks? I can't even watch a Knicks game without Ewing? Steve in the Bronx asks.
It is a little despicable Dave. And this is why. When you think of NY Knicks, you think of Patrick Ewing. And I don’t wanna hear about his age this and his old legs that. Pat is a future Hall of Famer and more of a capable big man in this league and plus the value they got for him wasn’t worth it in the long run.
I would have dealt that fat contract in Ben Wallace first you know Patrick is biting the dust soon so let him go out with Glory not to mention the Knicks sabotaged any chance of Ewing ever getting a shot at a Championship by sending him to Dallas. Just horrible!
Ron in Dc asks...Do the Wiz have a shot at a title run?
No, and this is why. The Wizards interior defense is bad as it gets. Antonio Davis and Derrick Coleman are nice veteran big men but they are the bottom of the stats in block shots. They are not going to get it done against other teams with great big men like Detroit, Orlando, and New Orleans. It’s going to be real tough for them to compete with that.
Hey if they get hot they can be hard to beat. They have the ingredients but they are too inconsistent though. One night they shoot 50% and the next 30%. Pierce and Walker will drive Wiz fans nuts for many years to come.
[glow=red,2,300]TOSS UP[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]Shaq or Zo[/glow]
Shaq. He’s massive, he’s a great rebounder and shot blocker, and scores a ton. Simply put, you have to take him
Zo, what 7 footer that can get triple double off Points, Rebounds, and Blocks can play the 3 spot.
[glow=red,2,300]AI or Kobe[/glow]
Iverson is the Answer so you gotta go with him. He’s a dynamic scorer and is a tough match up because he’s so small. It’s hard to pick over Kobe but if its anyone, it has to be Iverson.
I'm going Hollywood. Kobe Bryant. when Kobe is on fire he is hibachi!
[glow=red,2,300]Grant Hill or Ray Allen[/glow]
Both are underrated, but you can not pick a U-Conn guy over a Duke guy, so it’s Hill. He’s so versatile, can play the 1, 2 or 3 and still play like an nice big man would.
I’m a Big East guy and In Jesus I trust. How can you deny a pure shooter? Watching Allen is like watching poetry in motion. I can't wait for Hill to be singing the blues in Memphis like Elvis.
[glow=red,2,300]Payton or Kidd[/glow]
You cant go wrong with either Oakland point god, but Kidd would be the choice because he’s a little stronger and has overall better court vision than GP, but on the playgrounds, Payton might win.
Ason Kidd because there is no J there. I am going with the Glove because he is the better defender and can score the ball when needed.
When we get back we’ll rank the top teams around BBS where do they stand in the food chain.
If you are learning baseball you must own Tom Emanski's Instructional Video

Hey kids
Welcome back, Galo still hasn’t figured out the Rubik cube. What’s Next?
[glow=red,2,300]Food Chain[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]Boston, Orlando, and NJ?[/glow]
Orlando, Boston, and then NJ. Orlando is underachieving and letting Boston punk them a little in the Atlantic but I think they’ll recover. Boston is playing well but I don’t think Penny and Co. can keep it up. The Nets have Tim Duncan who is for real, but Strickland and Bibby might not make it together in the backcourt.
I have to go with Orlando at top because they have the big defender in Mutombo and the go to guy in AI. I NJ over Boston though because they have Tim Duncan and no chance the Mail man can still deliver against him.
[glow=red,2,300]Detroit in that Mix?[/glow]
Well I would put the Pistons #1 if they were in the Atlantic but luckily they are in the Central so those teams don’t have to worry about Shaq and the Motor City.
Well of course you would but the Eastern Conference finals it will be 2 of those 4 in there. I rank Orlando #1 with Det sliding in at 2. I feel something Magical down in Orlando
[glow=red,2,300]Clippers, T-Wolves, Kings?[/glow]
Minny, LAC, SAC. Minny just has overpowering size and strength that few teams can contend with so that sets them apart. Clips are an interesting team since they've added some depth with Robert Traylor and Dana Barros recently, so that may help them in the postseason. The Kings are left but don’t overlook them because they still have Jordan who continues to ignore retirement and the Glove who is relentless to win.
I think the standings say it all. Minny 1 , LAC 2, and Kings 3. Minny’s front line and acquisitions of Bowen and Starks give them all depth they need to dominate
[glow=red,2,300]BIG FINISH[/glow]…drum roll
Galo, who would you draft #1?
Gilbert Arenas, no doubt. A great point guard, leader and off the court hes a genuinely humble guy. You taking your boy Odom?
Call me crazy but I'm taking, out of your hood of UCLA, Baron Davis
HAHA B-Diddy would cause chaos at #1
Worst team in BBS next season?
The Rockets, because ownership looks like its in the toilet and the league will take over soon and make alot of moves to change that team dramatically.
How about the Miami Heat. Nothing is looking hot down there.
It’s possible
GM of the year?
This is a tough one, but it has to be our guest Aaron Reilly, because the guy knows how to get the pieces to win a chip and he’s shown that already. But, I have a feeling you could go with the other Aaron in Orlando or maybe Lums down in Sac town?
I’ve had enough of your praising the almighty Aaron Reilly. I'm going Bizarro here and saying another Aaron in Haberman. Who knew trading KG would make him atop of the west...No I take it back he's not the GM of the year trading KG is never a good idea....I'm going into Mormon territory...Manas. This guy is winning with nothing and not producing a lotto pick for another team out there.
Manas was my second choice, to be honest. great job down in Utah.
Final Thought Dave?....
Elton Brand is making a strong case for MVP with the numbers that he is putting up but do the losses add up to be too much to keep him from getting the award. Take into account if you take him off the Bulls they wouldn't have one win.
Well Dave, it’d be nice if League Offices make decisions on the entry of ownership groups of CC and Jeremy as they continue to be a problem of not knowing what their status is on their bids for teams. I think by season’s end, we should see one of these if not both at the helm of BBS franchises.
[glow=red,2,300]Buzzer[/glow]
Stat Boy what did we miss?
Well Galo, Rusty LaRue is not the leading scorer of the Blazers but the leading scorer is Larry Hughes 19.4ppg to LaRues 18.6ppg. Dave, trading KG has not made Aaron Haberman a top of the West which you stated but rather it did take him a top of the Eastern Conference, you know Orlando = Atlantic Ocean. Galo, also the Wiz front court is doing fine defensively as each DC and AD are averaging at least a block and a steal a game. Maybe the fact that they are only shooting 38% from 3 while attempting over 13 threes a game isn’t helping their cause. Gilbert Arenas hasn't officially declared for the draft so he might not be #1 but maybe another year in AZ. And finally Dave, you don't check mate in checkers but you do in Chess. So King Me.
Until next time. I’m Dave Krupimpski and I think Galo says he’s Aaron Reilly in the clubs to girls on the weekend
And I’m Galo Pesantes, Dave is upset because he isn’t the senior writer. See you next time.
