ESPN - According to NBA front-office sources, the Denver Nuggets have reached an agreement in principle with the Philadelphia 76ers to acquire Allen Iverson.
The trade, pending league approval, would send Andre Miller, Joe Smith and two 2007 first-round picks to the Sixers for Iverson and perhaps another minimum-salaried player or two.
Wow should be interesting.

Yea the 2 picks are projected to be in the 20s, it seems to just be a salary dump. Poor Miller who he going to pass the rock too since he isnt much for scoring. Maybe he goes in another deal.

This isn't the BBS sometimes Gems are found late in the 1st rounds... heck even 2nd rounds(Redd, Arenas anyone?)
Great rebuilding step for the 76ers. They now have 3 draft picks(including their own) in one of the best draft classes in years. Landing Oden, Durant, or Brandan Wright? Sick.
Than you got guys projected to go in late 20s like Thaddeus Young, Tiago Splitter, Rudy Fernandez, Tyler Hansborough... all guys who are going to surprise people in my opinion. Good move for the 76ers. Should be a good team 2-3 seasons from now if they play their cards right.

mavs drafted josh howard late and also in the same draft brian cook was taken by the lakers. Also Arenas and Redd were taken in the 2nd.
However I think this is a horrible deal for the sixers but I think they were really getting low balled by everyteam and why shouldn't they have they all knew Iverson wanted out. Dre Miller's contract is garbadge and is 2 more years on top of this for a total of 18 mil. Joe Smith is just another contract.

This isn't the BBS sometimes Gems are found late in the 1st rounds... heck even 2nd rounds(Redd, Arenas anyone?) sure, that's all true. but who have the 6ers found that late that's been that good? they're not that great at drafting and if they were they'd be really good right now. hense, iverson wants out, because they're not good. anyhow i think it's a bad deal for philly and an excellent deal for denver... if they get rid of kmart once he's healthy, their work is done.

Joe Smith was a #1 pick for the Golden State Warriors. I know, non-sequiter, but it makes me proud to be a Warriors fan.

Yeah Iguodala, Korver, and Dalembert have been complete and utter busts.

iguodala was a reach, and has shown no signs of being worthy of a top 10 pick other than the occasional sportscenter dunk. he's a roll player at best.
korver was a nice pick, i have nothing against him, but are we really comparing him to redd and arenas...? k-squared is a bench player on a good team.
dalembert was a good pick...
all 3 of those picks have something in common though. they're nothing special. they're not gems. if they were, then this group, along with iverson and webber would be making the playoffs with ease. shit they can't even survive in the worst division ever.
nobody can sit here and tell me with a straight face that 3 great picks and 2 allstars shouldn't be doing better. you can't take away the allstar credit, though i hate webber, so obviously the picks are nothing to brag about.

Webber was an all-star... he's nothing more than a bench player, not a starter. Iguodala will be great... his numbers are up significantly more since AI hasn't played. You're right there aren't gems, and they are no Redd or Arenas, but how many Redd and Arenas' are there? Not to many.

But he's at worst a guy who will score and rebound and is a valid starter. We'll see about Iguodala, though obviously everyone's #s are bound to climb without Iverson around. I'd like to see how it works out with a guy like Andre Miller running the offense.
