Ok... ... but since when does BBS follow what other leagues do? They should be following what we do. Im trying to put things in perspective. Lots of guys who have only been in BBS get somewhat spoiled by our rules. I like to make sure people know how good they have it.

wait, just to clear this up....say player A got and IN-Season MAX....as long as he has that, hes automatically labled as your franchise player, and unless he's traded, you cant MAX another guy IN-Season, but in Off-Season its cool, correct? True. You can have as many MAX guys as you want. But you can MAX 1 guy without having to let him be a FREE agent. iight, well in that case it sounds good to me.

i think i have a great idea... sort of like the MLB and NFL.
Only 1 In-Season Max. However once every 3 years, you can tag a player, and if another team signs him, they need to give you compensation. Whether the compensation is 1 RC, 2 RCs, or the most realistic (what the NFL and MLB do), a draft pick. Obviously we would need to determine what draft picks can be claimed/given, but I think this would be pretty fun and make it pretty strategic.

MOREOVER.... How about we get 5 GMs to grade FAs, A-F. (MLB FAs are put in different categories as well). If you're an A, and you lose your player, you get 2 draft picks, If you lose a B, you get 1 Draft Pick, C, 1 Rc, D-F nothing.

spence, another thing if you decide to follow through with that....what if we trade our franchise player (the guy we maxed in-season) and get a guy in the deal who was maxed in-season, he automatically becomes our franchise player? and also wouldnt that be hard to keep track of or you'd just make a list, and also would you go back and see who was maxed in-season from the start or this rule just kicking in for guys who were maxed this year or starting next year or what...

Out of this all... the people who have like 20 rookies on their team from tanking are the ones complaining.
Here's an idea... allow ONE in-game season MAX every 5 seasons. That's it, it's retarded to be able to MAX someone out every season.

I think my idea is pretty solid, it will also give a team an incentive to let one of their good players test FA.

1) You can apply the "restricted tag" to one person every 2 years. It costs 1 RC to do it. (If you don't accumulate RCs, they are pretty easy to trade for now. 2) A select group of 5 gms, will rate the restricted FAs and they will give them an A-F. 3) If a team loses an A restricted player, they get back 2 1st round picks from the team. If a team loses a B restricted player, they get back 1 1st round pick. If a team loses a C restricted player, they get 1 RC. Any players below a C get nothing. 4) A team cannot give a pick in the next 2 years, UNLESS that GM who loses the player excepts the pick.
Any comments?

it seems like a good idea to go with, i just think it might cause a lot of confusion among gms around the league. With this team direction board and this, I feel people may get lost. Though the idea is fine IMO, we need to change some things for rebuilding teams. Even the playing field out.

I simply hate the compensation rule. Its rare enough rebuilding teams can land a star in FA. Now your going to make them lose two 1sts too? Say the bucks landed a stud player. They would still suck!! Then they would have to give up lotto's to make up for it?
The one in season max every 5 seasons is fine. I think the 1 per season is horrible. One ever 3 seasons would even be ok.
