I have nothing else to say about this argument. Everyone can develop their own opinions from this, but anyone with half a brain can clearly see what DJ is pulling, and it's bush league. Sorry Spence, I'm sure DJ can start a new DC thread...maybe even submit a new and improved dc?? Why dont other GMs get shit for this though? DJ is alone in trying to play pooorly? I just dont get why he is getting so much shit, when other Gms are doing similar things? Its annoying that people seem to like to start picking on certain GMs. The ganging up of active GMs really needs to stop.

Serious. Im tanking. Everyone in sim leagues tanks. Its one thing to bench good players. If you can develop a game plan that allows you to lose with talent, then do it. There is nothing to prevent you from that.
Why doesnt Pig get shit for having way more talent then DJ, and still not winning or making deals to get better?
Why doesnt raptorsforlife get shit for trading 2 solid starters for future picks after acquiring Camby?
I just dont get why DJ gets all this attention.

The GMs you brought up were Pig (who's changed his dc and is currently in the playoffs and went 4-0 today) and R4L (who traded to get Camby, not sure how that's bad for his team). If you're taking his side on the argument, that's fine, but what he's pulled for the third year in a row is a complete joke with the team he has. No, he's not a championship contender and yes, he is a borderline playoff team, but is he as bad as his record shows? Absolutely not. You mean to tell me his team is worst than the Heat? I'm going to sleep.

Now he has scrubs starting at 3 and 4, because thats the best hes got. Did he break any rules? No. Is he tanking? yes. Whats the difference?

I dont think its fair that DJ gets the bulk of people getting on him because of he has three fairly good players in TMac, AK and Redd. I think people are little mad that Redd is only averaging 8 points a game with an inside focus when he is A- outside. Theres alot of people still trying to tank now, you can argue Pig hasnt done much to his DC but using only a comp DC the whole year or that San Antonio hasnt done more to win. But the point of the thread is that it is unfair that everyone is ganging up on DJ but I think that it is a little disturbing in the way he is trying to tank considering the talent he has on the roster. Also, the Raptors bring in the bottom 3 in scoring as a team doesnt really say alot of the talent they have.

The Raps dont have much talent. They have 3 players that could be very good, and thats it. Even if DJ was trying to win hed only be 500. This isnt even a playoff team in the East at 500.

But that's the exact point, he'd be a .500 team, not the worst team in the east. And to continue to do that, when you do have the talent is a discredit to the league, in my opinion.

What talent do I have??
Redd is nothing at the moment.
AK will probably never be a big scorer and certainly isnt now. You think his percentage would rise by him taking more jumpshots? 41% on an INSIDE focus which is his best offensive attribute.
The only true scorer I have is Tmac... and he's shooting lights out percentage wise.
Some of you people are hilarious and sad at the same time, without even knowing it. You vilify someone to suit your needs. Certain GM's are only beefing because they dont want to see me gain another top 5 or 6 or whatever lotto pick? Why? Because then Ill possibly have more talent then them down the line. Boo Hoo.

This is the stuff that kills it for me. I cant stand coming onto the boards after not being on most of the day and seeing shit like this. Its really just annoying. I know that lots of you guys love the BBS, and the passion in your perspectives shows that, but honestly sometimes I just get sick of the bickering.
Aaron and Dave, I dont think that DJ is any more blatant then anyone else in terms of tanking.

Implementing new rules is hard after a league has started, but now may be the time to start thinking about the wins=cash scenario we discussed before the sim started. Or perhaps just a minimum win % to resign or sign FAs in certain cases.

1 million for each win. 5 million for a division title. 5 million for a championship.
You must always have more cash on hand then your total payroll. Each year your payroll would be subtracted from your income. If you are negative then you cannot resign your own FAs, or sign new FAs to anything above the minimum. Any surplus in money can be rolled over to the next year.
